The Encompass Family & Child Advocate Program provides wraparound support to children, families and educators. Advocates support children and educators in a group setting to address developmental and behavioral setbacks. Advocates also support the family with basic needs assistance, resource navigation and goal setting. By wrapping our arms around the whole family, we see increased retention of children in care, which leads to better outcomes for their social, emotional and developmental milestones.

The program has helped me gain access in and around the community for help. It has also been a safe place for me to ask for help when I need it. You guys have always been very supportive of me [and] helped me get items for my son when I was struggling. You have also always been so nice and welcoming when I see you and you are always there to talk when I need it and open to scheduling meetings that work around my schedule.
Being an advocate has been a truly career changing experience. This role allows for me to support children in their most vulnerable moments. I am able to work alongside the educators to help create strategies in the classroom to make every student successful. I have been in early education for about 17 years and the advocate program is something I have not seen in any other area. Being able to work directly with children and their families to create a collaborative team truly puts children at the center of Encompass.
