We are excited to announce the launch of the Encompass Family Fridge at both our Cornerstone and Rosebush Centers, providing free, fresh and nutritious grab-and-go food for children, families, staff and Foster Grandparents. This new initiative is part of our commitment to supporting the whole Encompass family, because when basic needs are met, children and adults alike are better able to thrive.
Developed in partnership with Leadership Green Bay, and supported by generous food partners including Biebel’s Catering, the Encompass Family Fridge offers healthy meal options in a convenient, welcoming and judgment-free space. The fridge is open to anyone in the Encompass community who may need a little extra support.
“The Encompass Family Fridge is more than just a source of food—it’s a symbol of stability and care for the children and families we serve,” said Missy Schmeling, Executive Director of Encompass. “Food insecurity can deeply impact a child’s ability to learn and thrive, and this initiative ensures that no family has to choose between basic needs. It’s a powerful step toward building a stronger, healthier Encompass community.”
The Family Fridge is stocked regularly with fresh items such as fruit, cheese, yogurt and simple meals. As the program grows, we look forward to expanding partnerships and tracking impact through food donations, usage trends and stories from families who benefit.
